He L’Oréal Group has created a new €15 million endowment fund to help vulnerable communities develop greater resilience in the face of climate disasters, as reported in a statement.

The brand’s Climate Emergency Fund will support communities in areas most exposed to climate disasters through partnerships with local disaster relief organizations as well as international NGOs.

The funds will be allocated to two types of actions: ‘Prepare’, to help minimize the impact of climate catastrophes before they occur, through planning and early warning systems; and ‘Repair’, to restore essential infrastructure and vital services such as healthcare, housing and access to food and water when disaster strikes.

The first two beneficiaries are ‘The Solutions Project’, a US-based non-profit organization, and ‘Start Network’, a global alliance of more than 80 local, national and international NGOs working with people on the front lines. to provide responses when and before humanitarian crises occur.

The company has reported that the new fund is part of the commitment that the group has to face growing humanitarian and environmental challenges, as part of its sustainability program.L’Oréal for the Future‘ launched in 2020, where the group has since invested more than 200 million euros through various funds.
