Loredana Bertè was born in Bagnara Calabra (Reggio Calabria) on 20 September 1950, on the same day as her sister Mia Martini, three years older. In Rome, with his sister and Renato Zero, he approaches the world of entertainment: from television and radio broadcasts he passes to the stage of the Piper Club. In the seventies he dedicates himself to theater: he takes part in the musical comedy “Ciao Rudy” and then in the rock opera “Orfeo 9”. He collaborates with the Brazilian singer Chico Buarque de Hollanda and “E la luna bussò” is born, considered the first reggae song ever released in Italy. In the 1980s she flies to New York, where she meets Andy Warhol, who mistakes her for a waitress and asks her for coffee. The video “Movie” was born in the Warhol Factory, the only one produced by the artist. In 1982 he won the Festivalbar with “I’m not a lady”. Her look makes history: she comes dressed as a bride. Thirty years later she is copied by Lady Gaga. The following year, he married Roberto Berger, 10 years younger and son of the coffee producer Hag. On the same stage, in 1986, he shows up with a fake baby bump singing “King”. These are the years of the stormy relationship with the tennis player Bjorn Borg. To Borg he dedicates one of his most famous songs “Mi Manchi”, then re-proposed in duet with Patty Pravo. On 12 May 1995 a tragedy marks her forever: the lifeless body of her beloved sister Mia Martini is found. Between 1986 and 2019, he participated in 11 editions of the Sanremo Festival. In 2008, despite the disqualification, he won the Press Room Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award; in 2019 the Ariston Public Award. In 2015 he was judge of “Amici” and in 2020 he moved to the jury of “The Voice”. Many collaborations with young artists: Emma Marrone, Alessandra Amoroso, Rovazzi and Fedez.
