A great performance for Lorenza Beccaria who worked on Sunday 7 July on the middle route of the Dolomite Cycling Marathon, who achieved a sporting feat and crossed the finish line in fifth place overall (second in the category). The Bovesana, a member of the Officine Mattio Cycling Club, committed herself to the 106 km race (with a height difference of 3130 meters) that reached the finish line in Corvara in 4h18’31”. Final success for Giulia Medri (Mg K-vis promotion) in 4h07’33 ahead of Martina Cavallo from Turin (Ads Rock bike team), Rasa Rumsaite (Lithuanian member of the Asd zerosei Cycling team) and Olga Cappiello (Team De Rosa Santini). The last two are ex-professionals. In particular, Cappiello, born in 1963, who is already a worldwide master as an individual time trial champion, is proud of eight participations in the Tour of Italy and two in the Tour de France.
For Beccaria, a former Italian mountain runner, also second in the category behind Medri. Of particular note is the tactical intelligence demonstrated by rider Om.cc. who, after a careful start, was the main character with a good progress that allowed her to recover many jobs.
Great satisfaction comes from the great podium obtained the previous week by the Fausto Coppi and after the success he had at the Gran Fondo cycling event in New York.
Among the 9000 starters, as always, there was a very large delegation of athletes from the “Grand” covering all the routes (55, 106 and 138 km).
Also at the start there are many ex-professionals (one person above all, Greg Van Avermaet, Olympic champion in Rio de Janeiro in 2016) and many champions from other “attempted sports”.
