Los Angeles Angels’ Star Outfielder Mike Trout Suffers Hand Fracture, Deals Blow to Team’s Postseason Hopes
In a devastating blow to the Los Angeles Angels, outfielder Mike Trout has suffered a fracture of the hamate bone in his left hand. The injury occurred during Monday’s game against the San Diego Padres, with the Angels announcing the news. Trout fouled back an 0-1 pitch from Nick Martinez in the seventh inning, resulting in the fracture. Typically, hamate fractures require surgery and a recovery period of 3-7 weeks.
The 31-year-old Trout, known for his exceptional talent, entered Monday’s game with a .260 batting average, .365 on-base percentage, and .493 slugging percentage, along with 18 home runs, 43 RBI, and two stolen bases in his first 80 games.
