jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Pelita Jaya basketball team had to accept defeat in the first match of the 2024 IBL final against Satria Muda.

Visiting the BritAma Arena, Thursday (1/8/2024), the team coached by Johannis Winar lost with a score of 71-84.

In that match, Pelita Jaya was caught out when doing a defensive rebound so that the opponent could score 18 points from second chance points.

Another weakness made by Andakara Prastawa and his colleagues in the 2024 IBL final match was the transition from defense to attack.

Players like Anthony Beane Jr, KJ McDaniels, and Brandon Jawato were seen delaying the game more so that Satria Muda could suppress it by implementing a zone defense strategy.

This was then noted by Pelita Jaya coach, Johannis Winar in the first game against Satria Muda so that it could be overcome in the second match.

“We saw Satria Muda playing aggressively with offensive rebound, their system was better. While we, our movement was not good in doing fast break,” said the coach who is familiarly called Ahang.

In line with Ahang, Pelita Jaya player Reza Guntara also assessed that his and his teammates’ game in the match was not calm enough in attacking.
