Lova Hasinirina Ranoromaro, currently director of communication for the presidency and spokesperson for the President of the Republic, was appointed yesterday by the Council of Ministers as interim director of the office of the presidency. She will thus replace Romy Voos Andrianarisoa, suspended from her duties following her arrest in a corruption case in the United Kingdom.

This spokesperson for the President of the Republic has already held the position of director of cabinet of the presidency before. She had to hand over this post to Vahinala Baomiavotse Raharinirina who, after having been Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development, had to be reinstated within the team of the presidency. Vahinala Baomiavotse did not stay long in this position, she was replaced by Romy Voos Andrianarisoa last March.

The installation of Lova Hasinirina Ranoromaro at the head of the presidential cabinet should not change much, especially since the President of the Republic who will no doubt present in the next presidential election and should resign on September 10, in accordance with the law. In this case, he will have to give way to the President of the Senate, Herimanana Razafimahefa.

This interim should not only allow the evacuation of current affairs, and not wash the honor of the presidency shaken by this high corruption affair, the result of which will be known before the British court on September 8th.
