Chennai: The Chennai Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of moderate rain in Tamil Nadu for 5 days as the depression over the Bay of Bengal has weakened.

Information released by the Chennai Meteorological Department: Yesterday (November 21), the low pressure zone that prevailed over the south-west and adjacent Mid-West Bay of Bengal, moved in the west-north-west direction, and today (November 22) weakened into a deep depression area, leaving the Mid-West And adjacent to it in the South West Bay of Bengal along the coastal areas of South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu.

Due to this, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a few places in North Tamil Nadu, Puduwai, Karaikal and a few places in South Tamil Nadu today (November 22).

On 23rd and 24th, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a few places in North Tamil Nadu, Puduwai, Karaikal and a few places in South Tamil Nadu. Light to moderate rain at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal on 25th and 26th.

Chennai and its suburbs will remain cloudy for the next 48 hours. Moderate rain may occur at a few places. The maximum temperature will be 26 – 27 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 22 – 23 degrees Celsius.

Warning to Fishermen: Today (Nov. 22) Cyclone winds with a speed of 45 to 55 kmph and intermittent speed of 55 kmph are likely to occur over South Andhra coastal areas, Tamil Nadu – Puduwai coastal areas, Gulf of Mannar areas, Sri Lankan coastal areas, adjoining South West Bay of Bengal and Central West Bay of Bengal. Fishermen are advised not to visit these areas during these days.
