Today is Thursday, September 5, 2024, the day of a demonstration called by the vital forces of Guinea in Conakry and its surroundings.

From Matoto to Kaloum, contrary to what we usually observe, we note a weak security system in the various roundabouts.

At the Tannerie roundabout, only two pickups are positioned towards the town and only 1 towards the crossroads leading to Cosa. All this is topped off by low traffic watered by heavy rain.

On the bridge of Ahmed Sékou Touré airport, unlike other times, no pickups or CMIS tankers. A few citizens waiting for the rare public transport.

Most of the businesses that were still closed were gradually opening again.

In contrast, we observe shelter and support tents erected in several places: Dabondy, Kenien and at Casse de Dixinn, formerly an important area for the Alpha Condé regime.

T-shirts and caps bearing the image of the transitional president, General Mamadi Doumbouya, are visible everywhere, with inscriptions such as “Baraka Mamadi year 3” and others.

To top it all off, there was an atmosphere of song and dance in honor of President Doumbouya to commemorate the CNRD’s seizure of power.

In the same vein in Kaloum, the administrative business center, despite the emptiness observed in the streets, the parking spaces are mostly occupied.

Despite the gloomy climate on the Fidel Castro highway, the stations remain open.
