Manchester United have strung together three consecutive victories for the first time since December. What do they all have in common? Cristiano Ronaldo started them on the bench. Currently, five rounds into the Premier League season, CR7 is still yet to score for the Red Devils, something no one imagined would happen considering the phenomenon remains.
If you do not count periods when he was injured or suspended, no less than 15 years have passed since CR7 did not score in the first four league games (and now five have passed, as mentioned). In this case, the phenomenon is completely valid and it is a matter of professional decisions of Eric Ten the brother.
At the end, the coach referred to Ronaldo: “A third consecutive bench? It’s early in the season, we have a full squad, not just 11 players. Cristiano will have a big and significant part in the team, in the future he and Casemiro will be in better shape.”
