According to the information published by Reuters, the central government has ordered a committee to be re-examined on whether to change the pricing system for domestically produced gas.
The committee has been ordered to submit its recommendations by the end of September, according to Reuters. However, there is no immediate change even though the committee has recommended a reduction in gas prices.
Because the next gas price hike will be effective for six months from October. The committee’s recommendation also requires the approval of the Union Cabinet. Therefore, even if the committee’s recommendation is favorable, it may take a few months to come into effect.
