The 2nd season of the Sri Lanka Premier League in Sri Lanka is in full swing and the final is underway today. Only two teams, Calley Gladiators and Jaffna Kings, who clashed in the final last season, are playing in the final this season as well.

The Jaffna team won the trophy by beating Kalle in the final last season. The reigning champions Jaffna Kings are on the verge of winning the trophy this season as well and the Kalle Gladiators are on the verge of avenging their defeat last season.

Gurbas, who hit a four and a six from the start, returned to the pavilion after finishing his innings with 35 off 18 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.

Tom Collar, who was then paired with Avishka Fernando, also hit and pulled. Avishka Fernando, who has excelled throughout the season, also scored a fifty in the final. He was dismissed for 63 off 41 balls, followed by Shoaib Malik (23 off 11 balls with 23 fours and 2 sixes) and skipper Thisara Perera (17 off 9 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes). Tom Collar scored an impressive Audi fifty. He hit 57 off 41 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes and was on the field till last.

The Jaffna Kings set a solid target of 202 for the Galle Gladiators, who scored 201 runs in 20 overs as all the batsmen batted brilliantly.
