Lt. General dismissed from service, 20 years in prison, money earned through bribery and land seized

(24News) The court in Saudi Arabia has sentenced the former director of public security to a total of 20 years in prison and a fine of 1 million riyals on charges of manipulation of public funds, forgery and taking bribes by abusing authority.

According to the report of the Arab News Agency, the court has sentenced Lieutenant General Khalid bin Qar al-Harbi to ten years of imprisonment on the basis of abuse of power.

He is accused of abusing his powers in awarding government contracts and seeking personal benefits. The court has given this punishment under the criminal law, Lt. General Khalid al-Harbi was dismissed from his job and after that an investigation process was started. The amount of Rials will be confiscated back to the public treasury.

Apart from this, the accused has also been asked to return to the government treasury the amount of 2.82 million Riyals which he allegedly obtained through manipulation. will Including agricultural land, Khalid al-Harbi will be confiscated from all that he has illegally acquired.
