Lucknow: A mango festival program has been organized in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Hundreds of different varieties of the king of fruits, mango, have been exhibited in it. There are many varieties like Dussehri, Pali, Langra, Anguri and Arunika, but the most talked about is the ‘Yogi Raj Mango’. Lucknow-based farmer S.C. Shukla said that ‘Yogi Raj Mango’ was launched last year. It is named after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, because CM Yogi is hardworking, dedicated and selfless, so this mango has been dedicated to him. This mango is quite big. It has light fiber. Its pulp is very good and sweet. The special thing about this mango is that after eating it, there is no heaviness in the stomach. CM Yogi has also praised this mango.
250 varieties of mangoes at one stall
S.C. Shukla has put up about 250 varieties of mangoes at his stall. He has also received the first prize for the maximum variety of mangoes from the government. He said that CM Yogi has given more emphasis on the export of mangoes so that the income of farmers is doubled. The Dussehri mango is available in the country for 40 to 50 rupees per kg. Whereas, it is being sold abroad for Rs 900 per kg, which is benefiting us.
15 farmers were selected from across the state
Upendra Kumar Singh said that 15 farmers from all over the state have been selected for producing good mangoes with the help of technology in their respective areas. They were also included in this list and their work was appreciated. For this, I have received a certificate and award from the government. He said that the government has issued an SOP for Good Agriculture Practice for the last two years, in which necessary information has been given for mango production. We are doing farming according to that, due to which there has been an increase in mango production this year.
He got the first prize
Farmer Devendra of Saharanpur district has received the first prize for good production of Langra mango. He thanked the state government for helping the farmers. Devendra said that the government gave information about exporting mangoes. Many techniques and pack houses have also been developed, which will help in exporting mangoes. The government also praised the work of Mohammad Ilyas by giving him a certificate and award for good production of mangoes. He told that he has been participating in the Mango Festival for many years.
