Lucknow: A case of no action being taken on a girl’s complaint has come to light in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. On one hand, CM Yogi Adityanath is talking about the policy of zero tolerance in cases of crimes against girls. On the other hand, the police seems to be reluctant to register the case. Actually, after befriending a minor girl, the young man kept her together in a rented room on the pretext of marriage. After sexual exploitation for two years, the accused got married somewhere else. When the victim protested against the information, he started threatening to make the obscene photo viral. Due to depression, the victim consumed poisonous substance. On receiving information, the family members got him admitted to the hospital. After the condition improved, he reached Ashiana police station and filed a complaint. It is alleged that the police have not registered the case even after four days.

According to the 17-year-old victim, resident of Rae Bareli, she had to visit her aunt’s house living in Lucknow. About two years ago, I had gone to a park in Gomtinagar. During this time, I met Ketan Gupta alias Golu, resident of Ambedkar Nagar. After introduction, Ketan took her number and started calling. During the conversation, while expressing his love, he promised to marry the victim when she attains adulthood. After this, he took a room on rent in Ashiana and started living in it. In February, the victim came to know that the accused had married someone else. After this the victim informed the family members.

The accused threatened the victim

After a few days, the victim along with her mother reached Ambedkar Nagar to meet the accused. During this, the accused had threatened to make the obscene photo viral if she opened her mouth. The victim, who was suffering from depression, consumed poisonous substance on March 12. When his condition worsened, the family members got him admitted to Lokbandhu Hospital. After being discharged on March 14, she went to the police station with her mother and lodged a complaint.

According to the victim, despite filing the complaint, the police continued to hesitate. In such a situation, he met Ashiana Inspector Chhatrapal Singh on Sunday and pleaded. According to the Inspector, investigation is being conducted on the basis of the complaint. Soon a case will be registered and action will be taken against the accused.
