German airline Lufthansa has suspended operations in the airspace of Belarus. Today, on May 24, the dispatch of her plane from Minsk was delayed due to reports of mining. The day before, a Ryanair liner urgently landed in the Belarusian capital with ex-editor-in-chief of the Nexta Telegram channel Roman Protasevich on board, who was detained immediately after landing. According to official information, the Ryanair plane was landed due to the threat of a terrorist attack.

The Ryanair plane was landed on the personal order of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The Belarusian special services said that the Palestinian movement “Hamas” informed them about the bomb on board. Hamas denies this. Several countries reacted strongly negatively to the incident. In particular, Great Britain ordered airlines not to fly over Belarus, and Lithuania refused to accept planes flying over the country. The EU announces new additional sanctions against Minsk.
