FIFA’s decision follows the controversial kiss between the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation and Jenni Hermoso, after the final of the Women’s World Cup.
The former president of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, has been banned from all football-related activities for three years.
Rubiales, 46, kissed striker Jenni Hermoso on the lips after Spain’s Women’s World Cup final victory against England in August. The player assured that she went against her will.
The Spanish director refused to resign after the incident, but was provisionally suspended by FIFA.
This Monday, the governing body of world football announced that Luis Rubiales will be banned for three years for violating article 13 of its disciplinary code.
