This year’s Luise Büchner Prize for journalism goes to the Croatian-German writer Jagoda Marinić. This was announced by the Luise Büchner Society on Monday in Darmstadt.

Marinić, born in 1977, writes prose and plays, is a journalist, columnist and blogger. She also heads the Heidelberg Intercultural Center. “Jagoda Marinić attracted attention with her feminist attitude in her writings and podcasts,” the statement said. “In her essay “Sheroes” (2019) she deals with the topic of gender justice in a personal way.” The award ceremony will take place on November 27th in Darmstadt.
