The popular Mexican youtuber Luisito Comunica has once again become the center of controversy, this time during his visit to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Videos circulated on social media, particularly through X (formerly Twitter), show the moment when authorities detain him inside the metro facilities of the Caribbean capital. The incident sparked a flood of online comments, especially among the influencer’s followers, who are wondering about the reasons behind his arrest.

The videos circulated on social media show Luisito Comunica’s journey in the Santo Domingo metro, but it is in one of the three videos where the moment of his detention is captured. In the footage, the content creator can be seen being escorted by at least three security officers as he is led towards an exit, with an evident discomfort on the part of the youtuber.
So far, Dominican authorities have not issued an official statement explaining the exact reasons for the detention. However, some witnesses present have indicated that the arrest was motivated by the filming of videos for commercial purposes without the necessary permission from local authorities.

According to the User Manual for the Metro and Cable Car Services of Santo Domingo, the regulations of the transport system are clear regarding the activities permitted within its facilities. According to the regulation:
“The performance, taking, recording, etc., of images and sound in the facilities of the Santo Domingo Metro and Cable Car for non-personal purposes is prohibited, unless written authorization from the Transporting Entity is obtained.”

Apparently, Luisito Comunica did not comply with this requirement, which resulted in the intervention of the authorities.
The influencer’s detention generated a variety of opinions among his followers and social media users. While some consider that the arrest was a justified response for not respecting local laws, others believe that the action was exaggerated on the part of the Dominican authorities.
