During an abnormal meeting between Lukashenka and Putin held on April 5 in Moscow, the first reassured the owner of the Kremlin, and the second praised the Belarusian dictator.

In particular, Alexander Lukashenko convinced Vladimir Putin that Belarus and Russia will be able to overcome all the difficulties that arise.

“We will overcome all this. And those who hope or predict that we will collapse – we have not collapsed anything. Yes, it won’t be easy. When was it easy? We will endure and do everything even in microelectronics, where a year ago, meeting in your office, we just discussed what we should do. It turns out that they found an opportunity to work here. And missiles fly, and military equipment moves both with us and with you. So we will overcome everything, we need a little time. And tomorrow we will sum up what we have done. We definitely worked out the salary we are paid,” the Belarusian politician stressed.

He recalled that earlier Belarus and Russia adopted 28 union programs as part of the development of the Union State, leaving aside, at Putin’s suggestion, “those heights that we could not reach for a long time and cannot now.”

“Then, at your suggestion (just here) – you said: “Well, if we can’t, why are we marking time in one place, let’s do what we can. And we have identified 28 union programs,” Lukashenka is quoted by his press service.

He noted that 80% of allied programs have already been implemented. And frequent meetings with Putin were precisely connected with the fact that there was no inhibition in their implementation.

“If somewhere they stumbled, rested (governments), we immediately met and, making a decision, gave them a move to implement these programs. We purposefully, having agreed, worked hard on these programs for two years,” Lukashenka said. – And tomorrow (at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State. – Approx. UDF), while preparing for this event, I noticed that this is the first such event where we will talk more, summing up. There will be fewer issues. Of course they are. More and more appear as we develop. Yes, and they throw us these questions. ”

Lukashenka noted that he closely watched Vladimir Putin’s trip to Tula, where he visited a railway engineering plant.
“Very correct, good trip. Again, the working class is already turning us towards import substitution. You were right then, citing agriculture as an example. Everyone was frightened by hunger, cold (against the background of sanctions. – Approx. UDF). Today there is nowhere to put the bread in Russia. When was this, such a huge harvest!? Therefore, it will be exactly the same in the industry.”

Putin noted that on April 6, the heads of state and government will meet at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State. But the day before, the presidents decided to hold a separate meeting in order to once again discuss in detail the whole range of issues.

“A lot has been accomplished as a result of our joint work. In all directions. Tomorrow we will discuss all this. This also applies to our interaction in the international arena and the joint resolution of issues to ensure the security of our states. But, of course, it is especially gratifying to note the results of our work in the economic sphere. According to our statistics, the volume of our trade turnover has increased over the year, perhaps not by such large figures that we record with other countries (it has grown by 12%), but in absolute terms it is impressive, of course,” the President of Russia said.

According to the Russian side, the volume of trade between the countries in 2022 amounted to $45 billion, and together with services – about $50 billion.

“This is a serious result of our joint work,” Putin stressed.
