Lula da Silva delivers a speech on August 25 at the National Assembly in Luanda

Brazilian President Lula da Silva will address the National Assembly on August 25, on the occasion of his two-day visit to the country, Brazilian diplomacy announced this Wednesday.

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is due to arrive in Luanda on August 24th, or the following morning, the day he will meet in a private meeting with his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço.

Then, the Brazilian head of state will “participate with a speech” at the National Assembly of Angola, said the secretary for Africa and the Middle East of Brazil, Carlos Duarte, when asked by Lusa, at a press conference at the Itamaraty Palace, in Brasilia.

That same day, in the evening, the Brazilian President should close a seminar with businessmen from both countries, explained to Lusa, on the sidelines of the event, the director of the Africa Department, ambassador Ana Paula Simões Silva.

This development seminar will be attended by around 60 Brazilian businessmen from the food, pharmaceutical, agricultural and aviation machinery sectors, such as Embraer. On August 26, the President is scheduled to visit the Guimarães Rosa Institute, in Luanda, an institute dedicated to cultural diplomacy and education in Brazil, with a meeting with the Brazilian community in the country also scheduled, said ambassador Ana Paula Simões Silva.
