The investigation into the death of Indonesian celebrity Lula Lahfah has been officially closed, with police finding no evidence of criminal activity despite the discovery of a “Whip Pink” tube containing traces of nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas.”
The case, which captivated public attention in Jakarta, began with questions surrounding the circumstances of Lahfah’s death. Initial reports indicated authorities were investigating potential foul play,but those concerns were ultimately dismissed following a forensic investigation and a decision by the family not to pursue an autopsy.
DNA evidence Links Lahfah to the ‘Whip Pink’ Tube
The investigation took a significant turn with the discovery of a pink aerosol tube at Lahfah’s apartment.Forensic analysis conducted by the National police Forensic Laboratory Center (puslabfor) confirmed the presence of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) belonging to Lahfah on the tube.
“After we carried out the examination, we could conclude that it was true that there were blood spots on the bed sheets, on the used tissue or cotton wool there were blood spots and on one whip pink tube a DNA profile appeared,” stated a representative from Puslabfor during a press conference on Friday, January 30, 2025. Further analysis revealed the tube had been emptied of its contents, but a comparative test with a similar product revealed the original substance was nitrous oxide (N2O).
