Singer Luma Elpidio witnessed the salvation she received from God during a missionary trip in an Islamic country. The report was made in a recent interview.
Luma Elpidio and her husband, Igor Siracusa, went on a mission trip a few years ago and reported facilities received from God during the time they were in countries hostile to Christianity.
Last week, she gave an interview to Hub Podcast recounting an incident where he almost suffered sexual abuse in a Muslim-majority country, and in addition to healing, he also found healing from past traumas.
“It is a place where they kill Christians. We couldn’t talk about Jesus openly, we had strategies. We wore the clothes they wear”, he added in context.
Among the various deliveries, there was one in which she and her husband separated to visit mosques and pray silently inside the temples: “Igor went to one of the men and I went to one of the women. And we agreed, after 15 minutes, that we will meet in front of the person I was there”, said the singer again.
Luma left the place at the agreed time, but her husband took some time to come. Meanwhile, a man approached her and started touching her: “In Muslim culture, women are not valued very much. And I was alone and a bunch of men were passing by and I was attracting attention. She was different from everyone else, because she was white, because she wasn’t from there.”
As time went on and her husband did not come, the situation became more dire: “I prayed, I prayed in tongues, and I prayed, ‘Lord, save me . Father keeps me, protects me […] He came and started trying to touch me. To one point, he managed to put his hand inside the cloth that covered my hair – because no one can see women’s hair there, but the husband. He drew [o pano] and saw and touched my hair”, said the singer.
Delivery and cure
At that point, Luma Elpidio said that God sent a woman to rescue her from that situation: “It was the beginning of the abuse. And in my spirit, I was praying in tongues all the time,” he said, adding that a woman came in and started arguing with the man in the local language: “She raised her voice to him in Arabic, I didn’t understand anything. , I could see she was protecting me.”
“She went to me and asked, ‘Are you married?’ I said ‘I am’ and she turned that [o homem] and she started screaming again”, she said, saying that the woman took her back inside the mosque: “She asked me: ‘Where is your husband?’. And then, Igor came. When I saw him I broke down, all the crying I was holding back, that tension.”
Luma is convinced that the Lord used the Muslim woman who protected her to free her: “It was God who sent this woman to me, because she is the one who saved me”.
“See how God uses situations to heal us. For me, the biggest trauma I experienced from my inner child was abandonment. But God used this to bring to light something inside of me that I didn’t know I needed healing yet”, said the singer.
