TRENTO. A Romanian lumberjack born in 1999 lost his life this morning (September 19) while he was working in the woods of Val Sadole (Ziano di Fiemme)just above the forest road in the Cercenai area.
From an initial reconstruction it seems that the man was hit on the head by a log, probably after being cut, but the dynamics are being analyzed by the competent authorities. After the accident, it was his colleagues who called the Single Emergency Number 112 around 8:30.
The Emergency Center requested the intervention of the helicopter, while the operators of the Val di Fiemme Alpine and Speleological Rescue Station, the Fire Brigade of Ziano and Panchiá and the ambulance arrived on site.
Despite attempts to resuscitate the man by paramedics, there was nothing that could be done. After receiving the go-ahead from the authorities, rescuers transferred the body down the valley, entrusting it to the hearse.
