Before being a beloved cartoon of the 70s, “Lupine the Third” was a Japanese manga created by Monkey Punch. The cartoonist was freely inspired by the protagonist of the French novels by Maurice Leblanc and invented a close relationship between Arsenio Lupin and the gentleman thief of the comic, who would have been his nephew. Among the sources of inspiration for the paper Lupine there were also James Bond and The Three Musketeers.
