Gema Corredera and Beatriz Valdés, two great figures on the Cuban stage, came together on Instagram this Monday to share an intimate moment with their followers and, as could not be missed, they sang together one of the best-known songs of the island’s cinema: “ The mole”, which appears in the film “La Bella del Alhambra”.

Gema, singer, producer and guitarist, and Beatriz, television, film and theater actress, dedicated more than 40 minutes to their audience in which there was no shortage of emotions and memories of their great friendship.

“A being of art,” the singer described the actress who accompanied her; while her friend proudly called her “an extraordinary, brilliant, unique artist.”

Gema and Beatriz Valdés explained to their followers that they had been friends for many years. “Gema is my oldest friend, she was 7 and I was 8 and we were already emerging on the stage and the need to create and make art,” Beatriz Valdés said about the beginnings of their friendship.

“We met in the workshop but since we lived close to each other, our destinies brought us closer and closer,” added Gema Corredera.

Now, fate brought them together in Miami, where they are both currently residing. In that city they are carrying out various projects on which they also commented.

Gema will be presenting the show “Lo que no te conté” on December 8 at the Flamingo Theater, where she will not only delight the public with her music but will also be an intimate meeting to take a look at stories and experiences “that “It didn’t count.”

In that presentation Beatriz Valdés will be invited and both will perform “a very special song,” Gema said.

For her part, Beatriz Valdés is giving life to one of the leading characters in the play “If you die, I kill you”, under the direction of Alexis Valdés and with other greats like Yuliet Cruz on stage.

Both extended the invitation to the presentations, which take place at the Tower Theater, also in the city of Miami.

In addition to singing the famous song “El lunar”, the artists shared fragments of other compositions that they had performed together over the years and that marked their lives, as they explained.

There was no shortage of praise and reactions of support and respect from some of the people who responded to the publication, including the actress Yuliet Cruz and the producer Héctor Medina, one of those responsible for “Lo que no te conté”, who expressed his joy at the see “two great women on a stage” together.

“So many beautiful emotions to share. The Cuba that I miss is the one that you breathe. What a joy to be part of this dream,” she ended by saying.
