It is followed by the T20 series. The first match of the two-match T20 series took place today. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first.
Lytton Das, who played in the ODI series and helped the Bangladesh team win the series, also won the series title and played immensely in the first T20 match. All the other players were bowled out for short runs. Lytton Das, who came down to the 3rd row and played immensely, scored 60 off 44 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.
Bangladesh scored 155 in 20 overs with Lytton Das batting in charge. Chasing a challenging target of 156, Afghanistan lost wickets in a row at regular intervals from the start.
Only 3 players on the Afghanistan team scored double-digit runs. Najibullah Jatran top-scored with 27 runs. Captain Mohammad Nabi scored 16 runs and Asmadullah Omarzai 20 runs. Afghanistan were all out for just 98 in 17.4 overs, with everyone else out for a single.
Following this, Bangladesh won by 61 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the T20 series. Nasum Ahmed, who bowled brilliantly for Bangladesh, took a maximum of 4 wickets in the match.
