After the investigation by “BasketNews” and “Siena”, where the links between LKF and IBU, whose founder is M.Balčiūnas, were revealed, the person from Bizerze remembered an important part of the information.
Two weeks ago, M. Balčiūnas told journalists that LKF and IBU do not have a contract.
“None. No, stop it – said M. Balčiūnas about the conflict of interests between LKF and IBU and the contract two weeks ago. – This (IBU) is not a business. It is a non-profit organization. Only when I came to the LKF, the executive committee was informed that I would develop activities in the IBU. There were no objectionable people then. This was an activity that existed before the LKF and will continue in the future.”
On Wednesday, the portal “BasketNews” published a new publication, which describes that IBU used the image of LKF, photos of the Lithuanian national team and other uses, and finally M. Balčiūnas remembered about the valid contract.
“I will be the only general secretary or acting person for the basketball federation who has given support to the basketball federation. This is a contract for sure, I had even forgotten about it,” M. Balčiūnas told LRT journalist Jūrate Anilionyta.
“I can say that I hired lawyers to evaluate these processes, because the damage was done not only to me personally or my activities, but also to basketball itself,” added M. Balčiūnas.
