We should learn from Manan Halaili

Only seven days, one week, is the time that has passed since Maccabi Haifa was already completely eliminated in the championship fight with a gap of 10 points from the leader Maccabi Tel Aviv. That same week, the Greens managed to completely change what was happening at the top of the league and this evening (Sunday) they continued to narrow the gaps with a big 0:5 against Maccabi Petah Tikva which reduced the difference from first place to only three points.

The greens continued their excellent period and provided one of the most impressive games of the season, when already in the first half the differences in levels were felt. Anan Halaili and Lior Rafalov stood out, with the winger scoring the first goal for the captain (33′) and scoring the second himself with a great volley in the 40th minute.

In the second half the celebration in green did not stop. Goni Naor came on as a substitute and within two minutes scored his first goal for Maccabi Haifa with a genius jump outside the box in the 64th minute, Dean David added the fourth (69′) and scored the fifth for Shaun Goldberg (84′) who continued his surprising form of conquest and sealed the result with 0: 5 at the end.

What overshadowed the celebration at Sami Ofer was the injury of Mahmoud Jaber who is on a stretcher after being injured and the club fears that he has torn his hamstring. On the other hand, Maccabi Pet provided another disappointing performance in Ran Kozhuk’s second game on the lines, and it seems that the new coach still has a lot of work to do to bring about a positive change.
