Maccabi Rishon Lezion announced today (Sunday) the signing of guard Archie Goodwin until the end of the season. Godwin recently played in the Bodiblnik Kiev uniform, but in light of the fighting in Ukraine asked to leave the team, and he will end the season in the uniform of the Premier League table.
Goodwin (1.96, 27) has an interesting resume. He was selected in the first round of the 2013 draft by Oklahoma City (pick 29), but the rights to him were immediately transferred to Phoenix, in the media he played three years. Goodwin has also moved to New Orleans and Brooklyn and has completed a total of 153 appearances over five seasons in the NBA with averages of 6.2 points and 2 rebounds per game. In recent years he has been skipping leagues outside the United States, including playing in China, Turkey, the German Hall, and the French Blueprint Metropolitans and most recently the Ukrainian Bodiblnik.
Rishon Lezion now has six signed foreign players and the club will decide whether to stay with six until the end of the season, or to release one of the players and stay with five. The team will return from the team’s backlog in a difficult away game against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
