(ANSA) – CARACAS, 26 AUGUST – In an audio broadcast on her social media, the leader of the Venezuelan opposition coalition United Democratic Platform (PUD) Maria Corina Machado sent a message to her voters, almost a month before the presidential vote on 28 July. “The end of the regime of horror is approaching,” she said, adding that she could not say “the exact moment in which we will achieve victory” but that she is absolutely convinced that “the destiny of this struggle is the liberation of Venezuela”. The United Democratic Platform has published online 83.5% of the electoral minutes showing its victory. The opposition website with the electoral data has been investigated by the Attorney General’s Office. The main charges against its leaders are “conspiracy” and “usurpation of functions”. The candidate Edmundo Gonzaléz Urrutia has also been targeted by the Attorney General’s Office, which has summoned him tomorrow for a second time after today, where he did not show up. (HANDLE).
