No pans for Emmanuel Macron near the Stade de France? The Paris police headquarters has banned the rally planned by the CGT this Saturday evening for the final of the French Football Cup, AFP learned from a police source. The kick-off of the match between Toulouse and Nantes is scheduled for 9 p.m., under the eyes of the Head of State, present in the stands.
A risk of “disrupting arbitration”
The ban can be explained by several reasons: non-compliance with the deadlines for declaring a rally (three full days), the possible disruption of a sporting event with the announcement on social networks of the distribution of whistles (the whistles being forbidden in sports arenas so as not to disturb the refereeing), the desire to avoid any politicization of a sporting event, and the “serious risk” of violence due to the concentration of population around the stadium.
In a press release released Friday evening, the prefecture specified that “the use of whistles during the meeting would not fail to lead to the interruption of the match, due to the disruption of the arbitration”.
“We are not organizing a demonstration, we are only doing towing”, reacted the departmental secretary of the CGT, Kamel Brahmi, at the initiative of the distribution of red cards and whistles scheduled for Saturday evening to spectators at the exit of the metro and RER.

3,000 police officers mobilized, three times more than in 2021

“An image capture device by drones will be put in place to detect and prevent acts of crime, but also to detect disturbances to public order”, warns the prefecture. Finally, the sale and consumption of alcohol, with the exception of hard liquor, will be authorized inside the stadium.
