Made In Morocco: launch of the “Export Morocco Now” competition

Initiated by the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports (AMDIE), in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX), “Export Morocco Now” is a new program Support dedicated to Moroccan companies with export potential and operating in the industrial or service sectors.

The competition will close with the final selection of around a hundred exporters and first-time exporters, among the 518 eligible candidates, including 177 exporters and 341 first-time exporters, who must benefit from the support program and the offer of services of AMDIE, with the aim of promoting their export activities.

Of the 341 first-time exporters, a short-list was established of 184 candidates, from which 71 first-time exporters were selected. The remaining 113 entities should undergo an individual interview during this “bootcamp”, where they will present for 10 minutes their activities and their motivation for exporting to the 8 commissions responsible for selecting the exporters and first-time exporters who will benefit from the program.

During his visit to the “bootcamp”, the general director of AMDIE, Ali Seddiki, welcomed the organization of this initiative which aims to select Moroccan companies intending to start their activities at internationally, noting that “Export Morocco Now” is a program driven by the commitment of all partners to support the national product and, ultimately, the promotion of Made In Morocco.

For his part, the executive director of ASMEX, Mounir Ferram, highlighted the “exceptional” nature of this meeting “in the sense that it is the first time that it is held with Moroccan competitors wishing to promote the Moroccan offer. “These first-time exporters are very talented and have export potential to establish themselves in new markets, particularly African, European and American,” he said.

Amine Fassi-Fihri, competitor and co-founder of a company specializing in the development of digital solutions around artificial intelligence and machine learning, explained that the objective of his participation in “Export Morocco Now” is to “be able to export our solutions internationally, mainly to West Africa and the Middle East”.

“Through the export of our solutions, we wish to highlight Moroccan know-how in digital development,” he said, believing that this competition is a key to international access.

And added: “Our company has developed a 100% Moroccan product at the cutting edge of technology, meeting international standards, and which should, thanks to AMDIE’s service offering, compete with the largest international players in matters of digital transformation and digital identity”.

The selection criteria for entities are based on job creation, additional turnover from targeted exports, the added value conferred on exports, as well as aspects linked to gender, territoriality and sustainable development. . The call for expressions of interest in the three-year “Export Morocco Now” program closed on October 10, 2023.
