His face was nothing more than a wound. When his remains were discovered on October 15 in a stream in Matignicourt-Goncourt (Marne) a few kilometers from Saint-Dizier (Haute-Marne), Madison Collot presented numerous traces of violence which left little doubt about the horror of the last hours she lived. Arrested and placed in police custody on Tuesday, the ex-partner of this 24-year-old mother was presented to an investigating judge and must be indicted this Thursday, according to our information confirmed by François Schneider, public prosecutor of Reims.
On October 11, Madison Collot, mother of a 2-year-old boy, disappeared. His loved ones are worried. The young woman, who has ties to Saint-Dizier (Haute-Marne) where she was last seen and in Marne, has no further news.
Unleash of violence
Four days later, a young hunter came across Madison’s battered body. She suffered an outburst of violence. His face is marked by fifteen wounds, his jaw and nose are fractured, and, according to our information, the victim suffers from craniofacial trauma. The autopsy of the remains confirms his identity.
A little over a month later, the judicial investigation opened for kidnapping, sequestration and intentional homicide bore fruit and a man was placed in police custody. And he is far from being unknown, neither to the young woman, nor to the justice system. First, he is Madison’s former companion. The latter had accused him in September 2023 of domestic violence, a source close to the case tells us. Another former spouse was allegedly the victim of similar violence in December 2022.
Faced with investigators, he denies
Telephony, video surveillance, “technical elements”… The investigators pull the wires and become convinced that this suspect is the author of the violence which led to the death of the young mother. Placed in police custody by the gendarmes of the Reims research section, the accused “does not recognize anything”. No more than in the face of the investigating judge who opposes all these elements of evidence.
The man must be indicted this Thursday, tells us the public prosecutor of Reims, who requested his placement in pre-trial detention.
