The Madrid Open tennis tournament is being held in Madrid, Spain. In the women’s singles semi-finals yesterday, Tunisia’s Ones Jabir clashed with Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova.
The match lasted 61 minutes and Once Jabir defeated Alexandrova 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the final. He thus became the first Arab player to qualify for the WTA 1000 finals.
Jabir has qualified for the final for the 2nd time this year. She qualified for the finals at the Cherleston Open last month. It is also noteworthy that this is the 6th final match that Jabir will face in his career.
