Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said that Argentine soldier Nauel Gallo, who was recently arrested in Venezuela, planned to assassinate Vice President Delcy Rodriguez.
Maduro added: “They came from South America with specific plans to try to assassinate Vice President Delcy Rodriguez. They said he came here for someone close to him. The Argentine government is directly involved in violent plans to undermine peace in Venezuela.”
Madro explained that “Gallo (Argentine) entered the territory of Venezuela on December 8, 2024, coming from Colombia under allegations of visiting his family,” pointing out that “Gallo is one of 125 mercenaries from 15 countries who arrested in Venezuela in recent years. and that they all came to do activities.”
The Argentine authorities asked the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to take action against Caracas.
