A member of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) confessed to those close to him, “Never in my life have I been paid so much money in this crusade against fascism.” There is satisfaction among revolutionary agents with the rewards implemented by the government of Nicolás Maduro for those who fight against the “satanic cult” who, according to the Bolivarian narrative, have tried to implement a “cyber coup”.

Chavismo has launched a system of handouts to reward the machinery of repression that aims to terrorize Venezuelan society so that it stops protesting the mega electoral fraud of 28J, the largest in the history of Latin America. All those who participate in the harassment and detention of opposition leaders, civil society activists and citizens who participate in the defense of the vote have a Chavista target on their heads.

So far, the Penal Forum has verified and authenticated 1,500 of the 2,500 arrests made by Nicolás Maduro, although regional leaders and organizations consulted by EL MUNDO have assured that there are more arrests. Only in Trujillo, an emblematic state of deep Venezuela, once revolutionary and one of the first to massively host the freedom caravan of María Corina Machado, six detention centers were set up for the government’s terrorist plan, holding about 800 prisoners according to various sources consulted.

At the beginning of the repressive chain appear the revolutionary leaders and militants, from the communal chiefs to the famous “associate patriots” whom the number two of the revolution, Diosdado Cabello, quotes a lot. They are responsible for transmitting detailed information about the victims selected to the security forces: name, address, telephone number, close relatives and the usual places they visit. Lists are kept with those names, no arrest warrants, which will be issued after each one is captured. If, once the information is transmitted, the person is kidnapped, those who provided the information will receive 100 dollars in cash. In charge of supplying money to the interior of the country are the party leaders in each state.

The illegal detentions fall on different forces, from the political police of the Bolivarian Intelligence Service (SEBIN) to the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM), commanded by the renowned Major General Iván Hernández Dala, who also commands the Honor Guard of the President. Prominence shared with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DIP) of the Bolivarian National Police, made up in part of the remnants of the FAES, the “destruction brigades” as the UN called them.
