Maersk unites its brands under the “Maersk” brand

The Maersk Group announced that it is uniting all its brands into one unified brand – Maersk. The change will affect Hamburg Sud, SeaLand And also on recently purchased brands like Senator and-LF Logistics which will cease to exist and will be integrated into Maersk.

“We believe that by integrating them into the Maersk brand, we will be able to alleviate logistical difficulties, and at the same time offer more variety, more convenience and more connectivity than ever before – all under one roof,” the company said in a message to its customers.

Maersk stated that the move was not intended to cut costs and added that each brand in a different geography is expected to have an adjusted timeline in order to deal with the transition to the unified brand.

At the same time companies like APM Terminals, Switzerland, Maersk Supply Service, Maersk TrainingandMaersk Line Limited will continue to operate under their existing brand names.

“Our multi-brand approach has served us well over the years and all our brands have been able to meet customer needs. However, we know that multiple brands create complexity for our customers. Now is the right time to leap forward into a unified brand to provide our customers with truly integrated logistics,” Maersk added.

Let’s mention the German shipping company Hamburg South Founded in 1871, became part of the Maersk Group in 2017. The American shipping company SeaLand which operated mainly on intra-regional routes was acquired by Maersk already in 1999.
