Mafalda Veiga: “The Spaniards value themselves much more than the Portuguese: we lack that pride and love for our culture”

In the last March edition of Posto Emissor, Mafalda Veiga recalled the years she lived in Spain, with her family, in her childhood and youth.

Praising the mentality of the Spaniards, the singer-songwriter, who will present a new album at the Tivoli in Lisbon in May, points out: “They are a culture that values ​​itself much more than we do. So much so that when a Sting record, ‘… Nothing Like the Sun’, came out in Spain [com versões] in Spanish, ‘…Nothing like el Sol’. It’s an exaggeration, but we lack that pride and love for our culture.”
