MAG socializes the regulations for the Milk Law – La Nación

Guaranda, In order to strengthen the knowledge of livestock producers, the Undersecretariat of Livestock Production of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) and the Agency for Phytosanitary and Zoosanitary Regulation and Control (Agrocalidad), socialized the regulations for the Organic Law for the promotion of production, marketing, industrialization, consumption and pricing of milk and its derivatives.

The objective of this event was for organizations and producers to learn about and comply with current regulations in order to strengthen the production chain and provide citizens with the best quality products.

Among the main points discussed were Good Livestock Practices in dairy farming, mechanisms to determine the price of raw milk based on its quality and hygiene as established in the regulations; hence the importance of implementing good practices in the production chain, which seeks to guarantee the quality and safety of milk, from production to delivery to the final consumer.

As part of the event, Agrocalidad technicians provided training in good milk production practices that must be implemented to achieve the support price, as well as certification of farms free of Brucellosis and tuberculosis.

Lenin Barragán, District Director of MAG in Bolívar, said that as institutions, our commitment is to be with producers, not only as a control entity, but also as a support, training and technical assistance, so that producers strengthen their knowledge.

To conclude the event, a plenary session was held where producers expressed their concerns and suggestions, emphasizing the importance of continuing to support good practices that benefit producers, since as farmers they live off milk production and want to continue improving.
