MANILA: The death toll from heavy rains, floods and landslides caused by Typhoon Megi in the Philippines has risen to 167. 110 people were missing when a typhoon hit the Philippines on April 10 at a speed of 65 kilometers per hour.

The worst-hit areas were Bebe City and Davao prefecture. Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte visited the affected areas. More than 17,000 people have been evacuated so far. The Philippines experiences about 20 hurricanes a year. Maggie is the strongest wind to blow in the country this year.
