The people of that country, who are protesting against the government due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, entered the presidential palace on the 9th and looted it. After the situation got out of hand, President Gotabaya Rajapakse and his family decided to flee the country.

Accordingly, President Gotabaya Rajapakse fled the country with his wife. But his brothers former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse and former Finance Minister Basil Rajapakse are still in Sri Lanka. A case has been filed in the Supreme Court to ban them from going abroad.

Both the Rajapakse brothers have assured the Supreme Court that they will not leave the country until the case against them is investigated.

Meanwhile, the case against the Rajapakse brothers will be heard today (Friday) before a bench of 5 judges in the Supreme Court.
