Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna suffered a heart attack. He felt sick late Saturday night. Later he was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital. His personal doctor Dr. Shoaib Muhammad confirmed this information to the media.
Meanwhile, in a press release sent by Shakib Anwar, organizing secretary of Nagrik Oikya, Mahmudur Rahman Manna was arrested in 2015. He suffered a heart attack while in prison and was sent to the hospital. At that time he was diagnosed with multiple blocks in his heart. But the then government sent him from the hospital to prison without giving him treatment. Besides, even after his release from prison, his passport was withheld. Because of this, he could not get advanced treatment abroad.
Shakib Anwar said that Mahmudur Rahman Manna has been kept in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the hospital. He is not out of danger until another 36 hours have passed.
