BOATS. One of the topics that citizens are paying most attention to is the general state of the ecological islands. Councilor Andrea Sbironi (M5s) intervenes on the matter. “Beyond uncivilized behavior – he writes – with waste left in a disorderly manner at the ecological islands, behavior that to date is still unpunished, it is also interesting to understand in which direction the council and the competent assessor intend to go in the coming years. Therefore we have presented a question to understand future strategic decisions”.
“As for the ecological island of Via Kennedy (near the nursery school “La Giostra”) we wonder what is missing to be completed given its current state. Given the proximity to the nursery school, we hope that the necessary measures will be taken, in order to improve the island: we are very concerned about the odors and not only, especially in the spring-summer period. The island is in fact very close to the nursery school and the Question aims to sensitize the Municipality and Seab to pay greater attention. Given the situation, a formal action also by the parents of the nursery school would be pertinent and would accelerate a process of improvement”, says the municipal councilor. Bruno Canalivales. During the night of last New Year’s Eve, some vandals destroyed (probably by inserting large firecrackers) the metal mailboxes for the post that had been installed next to the road that goes up to the hamlet of La Costa-Seit, above Pineta. Since then they have remained as they were, that is to say, unusable.
The same thing happened in Vallarsa, above the city of Laives: there too, the mailboxes of the farms above Monte Francesco were broken and never replaced. This situation created inconvenience for those who live in the farms in the hamlet of la Costa-Seit, above Pineta, and for those who live in those on the side of Monte Francesco, above the city of Laives. So, for mail delivery, people make do as they can, having the letters delivered to the address of some friend, where they can then go and collect them. Before, however, when they went home, they could conveniently check the mailboxes since they are on the side of the road to home. It is in fact unthinkable that the postman would go up to each of the farms, a few kilometers from the valley floor, perhaps to deliver a single letter. For this reason, the Post Office had those metal mailboxes installed and up to a certain point, everything worked perfectly.
Then – unfortunately – vandals arrived to target them and break everything and since then the mailboxes have not been replaced by the Italian Post Office, thus leaving the families of the farms in difficulty to receive letters, registered letters and so on. It may also be that they are no longer replaced for fear that the new ones will sooner or later suffer the same fate because of the vandals who have no respect for anything but, as mentioned, this situation is creating inconvenience for the citizens living in the farms above Pineta and Laives. The hope now is that a solution is found as quickly as possible to ensure that the mail is delivered to them safely, perhaps by installing new mailboxes near the homes next to which the roads to the farms pass, so that they are more under someone’s control. In fact, the destroyed ones are in fairly isolated positions and far from the homes, which has favored gratuitous damage.
