Maine-et-Loire: Camille’s socks whet the appetite

by time news

When you have a sense of celebration, a passion for gastronomy, a taste for colorful clothes and you are looking to give new impetus to your professional life, the solution is quickly found.

At 29, the Saumuroise Camille Vigouroux has launched a line of socks that places gluttony, fashion and humor on an equal footing. The Mireille et Raymond brand, born at the end of 2021, is a hit. Today, it is available via its own website and in 200 points of sale (including wine merchants!).

At home, where she has set up her workshop in the shade of the famous military schools of Saumur, Camille Vigouroux displays a big smile: “We have already sold 15,000 pairs! The whimsy and bright colors of the unisex patterns she designs with her friends Dyn and Lau – wine glasses, beer mugs, Christmas turkeys, sushi, fried eggs, strawberry shortcakes, orange zest, etc. – please. A lot. Price: 18.50 euros in adult size (from 31 to 50). And the manufacturing is French, provided by a family business in Troyes (Aube).

Ten new models per year

With two collections and ten new models per year, Mireille et Raymond intends to maintain the enthusiasm of its followers and attract new followers. “We therefore offer children’s sizes from 0 to 2 years old to respond to the trend matchy-matchy, which allows parents to match their outfit to that of the little ones,” explains Camille Vigouroux. And to develop even faster, she surrounded herself, in September, with two young work-study students.
