LEWISTON, Maine – A devastating tragedy unfolded in Lewiston, Maine on Wednesday evening as two separate mass shootings left at least 18 people dead and 13 others injured. The community is in shock as they come to terms with the loss of their loved ones, while the manhunt for the gunman, Robert Card, continues.

According to Maine State Police, seven people lost their lives at Sparetime Recreation bowling alley, consisting of six males and one female. At the nearby Schemengees Bar and Grille, eight more individuals, all male, tragically lost their lives. Three additional victims succumbed to their injuries at local hospitals.

As the identities of the victims are revealed, the true extent of this senseless act of violence becomes apparent. Bill Young, a 44-year-old man, was bowling with his teenage son, Aaron Young, when both of their lives were tragically cut short. Bill, a married father of three, was known for his humor and zest for life, and his brother mourns the loss of a joyful and lively individual.

Bob Violette, 76, was a beloved bowling instructor who dedicated his time and efforts to teaching kids at Sparetime Recreation. Described as kind, patient, and always willing to lend a helping hand, Violette’s presence will be greatly missed in the community.

Joseph Walker, 57, was the bar manager at Schemengees. He lost his life as he bravely confronted the gunman with a butcher knife, according to his father. Walker’s heroic act showcases the selflessness and bravery present even in the face of danger.

Michael Deslauriers II, 51, was another victim who displayed incredible bravery. He was bowling with his family and friends at Sparetime Recreation when the shootings occurred. In a final act of selflessness, Deslauriers ensured the safety of his loved ones before charging at the shooter alongside a friend. Both men tragically lost their lives.

Peyton Brewer-Ross, 40, an employee at Bath Iron Works, was also among those killed. Described as a valuable and positive presence in the company, Brewer-Ross’s loss is deeply felt by colleagues and loved ones alike.

Other victims include Joshua Seal and Billy Brackett, both participants in a cornhole tournament for the deaf at Schemengees, Bryan MacFarlane, a motorcycle enthusiast and truck driver, Steve Vozzella, and Arthur Strout, a father of five who had been playing pool with his son at the bar shortly before the shooting.

The remaining victims have been identified as Ronald G Morin, Maxx Hathaway, Thomas Conrad, Jason Walker, Tricia Asselin, and Keith Macneir.
