Former President Maithripala Sirisena has said that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has launched a new program to save the country from the dilemma facing the country.
He described the current government as a coalition government and the third largest party in parliament, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
He said that although some felt that the SLFP had gone to an irreversible stage, such a situation had not arisen.
He also said that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party had suffered a major setback in the 1977 elections.
He said the danger could be averted only if the government identified the grievances of the people by 2022 and came up with solutions.
He also said that the difficulties faced by the peasants at present were not experienced even during the British rule.
