Visit of Major General Kiugu Aphaxard to the Burundian contingent in the DRC: Strengthening of ties and recognition of the work accomplished

Kivu (DRC), 08/15/2023 – In line with the foreign policy of the Barundi, particularly in the area of ​​defence, the General Major Kiugu Aphaxard, Commander of the Regional Force of the East African Community (FRC-CAE) in the DRCpaid a visit to the Burundian contingent of the National Defense Force of Burundi (FDNB) deployed to Mweso, Kitchanga and Kilolirwe in the DRC, accompanied by his staff. He expressed his gratitude for the excellent work done in stabilizing his area of ​​operation.

From 1989 to 2022, the GUAN [1] established itself in Africa, causing major security problems, particularly in the DRC. At present, with the emergence of a multipolar world embodied by the BRICS, a glimmer of hope is finally shining for the advent of an era of peace in the African Great Lakes region.
