The President of the City Council of PSDB in Sao Paulo, Marco Vinholisaid most of its members advocate supporting Ricardo Nunes (MDB) in the 2024 municipal election. According to the president, the fact that Nunes was deputy Bruno Covas in the 2020 elections is a contributing factor to possible PSDB support. However, he points out that there are supporters of tucan candidacies and even alliances with other parties. “We hold the discussion within the party with the municipal board, which, for the most part, defends going with Ricardo Nunes, considering that he was Bruno Covas’ deputy. It is a situation in which we feel that we are participants in this management, considering that the flags are those that Bruno Covas represented to the population and that we are fighting for them to be implemented. But there are also those in the party who defend their own candidacy and composition with other fields, such as Tabata Amaral herself”, says Vinholi. The PSDB-SP president also says that, personally, he defends the party’s own candidacy, but believes that the scenario should change over the next few months.
