A large majority of people in Germany believe that Chancellor Olaf Scholz is a weak leader. 77 percent of those surveyed believe that the SPD politician is not getting his way. This is the result of a survey conducted by the research group Wahlen for the ZDF “Politbarometer”. Only 17 percent of the survey said that Scholz was getting his way. 6 percent did not want to give an assessment.

For the survey, which according to the research group Wahlen is representative, 1,328 people were interviewed by telephone and online between September 3 and 5.

In a survey published on Saturday, Scholz and the traffic light government he leads did not fare well either. According to the survey conducted by the Insa Institute for the “Bild am Sonntag” newspaper, 74 percent of respondents are not satisfied with the work of the federal government – that is 4 percentage points more than in the survey two weeks ago. 70 percent are dissatisfied with Scholz’s work (plus 6 percentage points).
