Saw: Ara MP Sudama Prasad presented his views on the railway budget in the Lok Sabha. He demanded doubling of the railway line between Ara and Sasaram. Also, he appealed to build a foot over bridge at Ara East Gumti. The MP demanded restoration of concessions for senior citizens, stoppage of Rajdhani Express at Ara and construction of Ara-Bhabua-Mundeswari railway line.

A separate budget should be presented for the development of railways: Sudama Prasad

Sudama Prasad advocated presenting a separate budget for the development of railways. He opposed the privatization of railways and said that this would benefit the capitalists and millions of jobs would be lost. He demanded to increase the number of general bogies in railways, stop corruption in the booking system and make railways accessible to the common man. The MP also demanded to fill the vacant posts in railways and make the gateman’s duty 8 hours.

Sudama Prasad has reached the Lok Sabha by defeating RK Singh

Sudama Prasad is a leader of CPI ML and has reached the Lok Sabha by winning from Ara in the 2024 elections. He defeated Union Minister RK Singh. Earlier, he has been an MLA twice from Tarari assembly constituency of Bhojpur district. Sudama Prasad is known for raising the problems of the public. He also raised the issue of not building an underpass at RK Eastern Railway Gumti in the House.

Sudama Prasad said, ‘A separate budget should be presented for the development of railways. Privatisation of railways should be stopped. Stopping privatisation will open the way for lakhs of jobs. General bogies should be increased in railways. Also, corruption in the railway booking system should be stopped. Railways should be made a lifeline for the common people and not for the rich.’
